Ambassador of Argentina

Ambassador Fernando Petrella is a lawyer and notary public and he studied in the National University of Buenos Aires. He completed a Master’s Degree of International Public Policies at John Hopkins University (SAIS) in Washington DC. He joined the External Service in 1965 and he was stationed in the United Nations, FAO and OAS. He was the Director of International Institutions, Western Europe, Assistant Secretary-General for Foreign Relations in 1992-1993 and 2002-2003. He was the Deputy Minister for Foreign Relations from 1992 to 1997. Between 1997 and 1999, he was a Permanent Representative to the United Nations and later he was the Director of the Masters in International Relations in the University of Belgrano, Buenos Aires. He is currently a Professor at the Argentine Foreign Service Institute. Ambassador Fernando Petrella is a member of the Executive Committee of the Argentine Council for International Relations (CARI) and he usually collaborates in the main newspapers and publications on foreign policy issues.
