Former secretary of State for Defence / Spain

He has been director general of the Marine Social Institute and National Social Security Institute. From 1993 to 1996 he was member of the Congress of Deputies. In 1994 he was named secretary of State for the Public Administration and in 2004, Government delegate for the Autonomous Community of Madrid. Until his appointment as secretary of State for Defence he was president of the Sociedad Estatal de Infraestructuras y Equipamientos Penitenciarios (State Society of Penitentiary Infrastructures and Equipment).
