He is Professor of American History at the National University of Distance Education (UNED) and the Principal Analyst of Latin America for the Elcano Royal Institute. He is an academician of the National Academy of History of Argentina. He has been an external researcher at St. Antony’s College (Oxford University), University of the Andes and the Di Tella University in Buenos Aires. Mr. Malamud is member of the Advisory Board of the Institute of Culture of the Fundación MAPFRE. He has written several books and articles on Latin American history and topical issues, among which the following are particularly noteworthy: Ruptura y reconciliación. España y el reconocimiento de las independencias latinoamericanas (Taurus, 2012) (Rupture and reconciliation.
