Former President of the Argentine Republic and Honorary President of the NGO Movimiento Productivo Argentino / Argentina
He has been elected to all public offices in his country: Councillor (1973) and Mayor of his home town, Lomas de Zamora (1974-76; 1983-87); Member of parliament (1987-89), Vice President of the country (1989-91); Governor of the Province of Buenos Aires (1991-95; 1995-99) and President of the Argentine Republic (2002-03). Between 2003-2005, he served as the President of the Commission of Permanent Representatives of MERCOSUR. Since 2005, he is the honorary President of the NGO Movimiento Productivo Argentino (Argentine Productive Movement). A Professor of Law and Economic Sciences at the National University of Lomas de Zamora and an author of several acclaimed works, he has received different national and international awards for his contribution towards the State’s development.
